Respiratory Therapist - Pediatrics

Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Central Florida's only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and part of Orlando Regional Healthcare, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team of professionals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate competency in respiratory therapeutics and in the use of invasive and non invasive ventilators and other equipment required for the provision of respiratory care
  • Maintain accurate and precise documentation
  • Demonstrate strong power of analytical reasoning and effectively blend patient care management skills with technical expertise
  • Communicate openly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team
  • Demonstrate proficiency in quality control and maintenance of arterial blood gas analyzers

Requirements include:

  • A.S. degree in Respiratory Care from an AMA-approved program in Respiratory Care
  • Basic computer/mechanical training
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Licensed by the State of Florida (Department of Health)
  • Maintain current BLS certification

MedCenter Air Neonatal Team Respiratory Care Practitioner

Located throughout the Charlotte, NC area, Carolinas HealthCare System is a premier, multi-faceted healthcare organization whose facilities make up one of the largest integrated healthcare systems in the US.

The MedCenter Air Neonatal Team Respiratory Care Practitioner will function as a member of the critical care transport team and is responsible for the care of ill neonates and small pediatric patients transported by MedCenter Air. This is a FT position, days vary, 8 or 12 hr shifts and requires work on helicopters, ambulances and fixed wing aircraft.

Qualified candidates must possess RRT certification, Associate's degree in Respiratory Care, BCLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP with three years of combined neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit clinical experience. Due to limitations of the aircraft, candidates must meet fit for duty policy requirement for safe aircraft operation. Bachelor's degree, transport experience and NPS preferred.

MedCenter Air consists of two Bell 430s, two Beech King Air 200s and two Cessna Citation 560s and is a CAMTS (Commission of Accreditation of Medical Transportation Systems) accredited program that was established in 1986. We complete 300 - 400 transports per month including interfacility and rotor wing scene response. Our services include: two rotor wing bases; regional, national, and international fixed wing services including primary transports, third party escort and organ procurement services as well as neonatal and pediatric teams. MedCenter Air operates an independent Communication Center staffed by three Communication Specialists (one for each mode of transportation) 24 hours/day, seven days/week. We also operate under Part 135 for rotor and fixed wing services. Contracted vendors include Air Methods and Landmark Aviation.
