Treating Tobacco Dependence Comprehensively

This session provides up to date stats and evidence-based techniques for clinical staff to address tobacco dependence with patients and effective approaches to provide support and resources for quitting. Concerns with health impacts of alternative products like electronic devices and safer FDA approved medications for cessation aids in quitting.

Session Objectives:

  1. Describe key recommendations in treating tobacco use and dependence clinical guidelines.
  2. Understand the importance of implementing Ask Advise, Refer techniques with patients.
  3. Identify statewide and local referral resources available to tobacco users.
